CANADIAN TOURISM COMMISSION

For millions of gay and lesbian travelers, Canada is a place where the face of diversity and acceptance is a warm and welcoming smile. It’s a land whose people are passionate about play and work. It’s a land that offers dining, nightlife and natural experiences that are truly unique and diverse – just like our people.

Canada has long been recognized by local and international representatives of the GLBT community for leading the charge on gay issues and equality. Over the years many prominent Canadians have been honored by the Equality Forum and in 2004 Canada was Equality Forum’s host and Featured Nation. The Canadian Tourism Commission is a member of the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce which has been promoting economic growth and opportunities for GLBT and GLBT-friendly businesses since 2003.

Every province, territory, city and town has so much to share. Canadians are waiting to extend their hospitality and show off their pride. Not only are we home to world-renowned Pride celebrations in Vancouver, Toronto and Montréal, we’ve hosted many prestigious events. In the summer of 2006, the Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association’s 1st World Out Games played out in Montréal in front of over a half a million spectators. The inaugural North American Continental Outgames will take place in Calgary in April 2007.
The Annual Convention of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) will take place in Montréal in May 2007.

The Canadian Tourism Commissions and its partners are proud members of the Canadian Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, as well as a Founding Platinum Partner of the GLCVB.
