Toronto is the city that celebrated the first legal same sex marriage in North America. It is a city whose Pride Festival turns the streets into one enormous parade and every parking lot into a dance floor for over one million rabble rousers. Tourism Toronto’s mission is to be the authoritative source for Greater Toronto Region tourism knowledge. By providing unparalleled industry insight and excellent opportunities, its members and diverse visitors to the city benefit from a rich destination experience.
With more than 1,100 members, Tourism Toronto is officially a not-for-profit agency funded by a destination-marketing fee (DMF) — a 3% fee charged by greater Toronto region hotels to invest in marketing member attractions and services. Tourism Toronto also has full-time sales staff in Mississauga, Markham, Ottawa, Chicago and Washington, DC.
Tourism Toronto supports many LGBT organizations including sponsorships with The Queer Lounge and very active partnerships with Pride Toronto and Toronto’s Church and Wellesley (Gay Village) BIA.
