Welcome to Gay and Lesbian Toronto
Inspired Meetings and Events Start in Toronto! Toronto is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, a place where international ideas intersect with Canadian culture. An international city of warmth, openness, energy and style, Toronto is enriched by the fusion of traditions, passions and perspectives on life of the more than 100 cultures that are found in this city. Ever-evolving and ever-surprising, inspiring ideas converge here; original thought is celebrated, and magic happens as a result.
Toronto is a gay-friendly urban playground that welcomes everyone, with a vibrant gay village in the city's core and unlimited options beyond. It is a remarkable destination for all tourists, convention delegates, and business travelers because whether your priority is location, extravagance or value, Toronto offers it all and does so with a long list of Travel Alternatives Group (TAG) and/or Travel Gay Canada (TGC) accredited accommodations. Toronto is the city that celebrated the first legal same sex marriage in North America. It is a city full of dynamic residents and business leaders, all of whom celebrate and support the history of their local LGBT community. It is a city whose Pride Festival turns the streets into one enormous parade and every parking lot into a dance floor for over one million rabble rousers. Truly anything and everything goes in Toronto, which means the possibilities are endless!

Toronto will host World Pride 2014. Tourism Toronto, in partnership with Pride Toronto, is excited and anxiously awaiting the honour of hosting World Pride in 2014. As part of a bid team that included Toronto Police Service and sponsor TD Bank, Toronto was successful in landing World Pride in 2014. World Pride 2014 aims to promote lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues on an international level through parades, festivals and other cultural activities. The provisional program for the festival includes an opening ceremony with a parade of nations, an international human rights conference, a wall of remembrance in honour of the 45th anniversary of Stonewall, and an exhibition and networking fair. A gathering of all Pride Toronto’s former International Grand Marshals will take place, an AIDS Candlelight vigil will be held, and three parades including a Trans March, a Dyke March and Pride Parade. Cultural events will be scheduled to celebrate Canada Day and the US Independence Day, and a closing ceremony will be held immediately following the Parade. This recent business adds to the growing list of LGBT organizations who are choosing Toronto to host their prestigious international conferences:
• International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association’s (IGLTA) Annual Convention (2009),
• International Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Assoc. Conference (2005),
